"Lieut.-Gov. Covert, His Aides, and Messrs. Baldwin and McCurdy"

A clipping from an unidentified newspaper reported the unveiling of the Canadian Flying Clubs Association's cairn in Baddeck. Lieutenant-Governor W.H. Covert was escorted to the town square by guards of honour from the Cape Breton Highlanders under Captain Gordon McNeil and from H.M.C.S. Saguenay under command of Lieutenant P. Tisdall. Lieutenant-Colonel Almon and Lieutenant-Commander Gow, Halifax, were the Aide-de-Camps. At noon, a luncheon was held at the Bras d'Or House and honoured guests included Senator J.S. McLennan; Hon. Michael Dwyer; Mayor Fenwick Kelley, North Sydney; Mayor Fred J. Mitchell, Dominion; Colonel J.A. McDonald, President of Sydney Board of Trade; H.J. Kelley, Vice-President and General Manager of Dosco; J.A.D. McCurdy; F.W. Baldwin; and visiting flyers of the Maritime Good Will Tour.
