The British Empire Games were held in London in 1934. The athletes include Aileen Meagher who is shaking hands with the Acting British High Commissioner. The story ''Canadian Women at the World Games: A story of Athletic Achievement'' appeared in The Canadian Gazette and Export Trader, 16 August 1934; this photograph appeared on page 393. The article mentions E. Palmer secured third place and Aileen Meagher secured fourth place for Canada in the 200-metre race.
