After a good deal of correspondence [relative] to a situation for the Indians in which [his] [Excellency] [illegible] P. [Maittain] took so [illegible] an interest & so kindly offered to purchase, [illegible] [illegible] [Indians] so attached to [illegible] personal possessions [illegible] the Entrance of [this] Harbor that no other [illegible] would satisfy [thereon], and the proprietor [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] to sell, [illegible] has however stated to [illegible] in writing He will take for the lot in question One Hundred & twenty [pounds] which is [less] twenty pounds, than this offer [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] & [illegible] [this] is the best that can be [done], the [total] [illegible] is worth [nearly] [the] [seven] [others] & is very convenient & suitable for these poor people
