I beg leave to state that the few Remaining Indians reciding in this District, are quite destitute of the means and [nec?] of Life, The Bearer Apsein Paul is one of the Best he is a Sober Man, & lately lost his best support, a Son who died of consumption. He goes to Halifax for and to buy a [Gun?] & to apply for Licence to occupy part of the Land at the entrance of this Harbour, which they the Indians claimed, ab Origins and of which you wrote above some years back - One Hundred Acres would answer their purpose. I believe a Mr. Archibald McDonald & a Mr. [Irving?] of Halifax have same claims on the property -
