Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia

Proclamation issued by Governor John Wentworth encouraging locals to engage in privateering


Nova Scotia's Governor Wentworth quickly encouraged locals to engage in privateering against the enemy but the risks of war, combined with the opportunities of regular trade, meant that six years would pass before colonists took up the challenge.
