gentlemen of the Committee of the Isle of Sable Should I be considered a fit person for a settler on the Isle , I could wish to land on and to examine the Island previous to taking the family. I could wish also to make my Boat. I know full well what Boats will answer their, verry few Boats in this contry (sic) will answer on that Isle, I can make here also verry convenient a light frame for a house fifteen, by twenty four feet, that six men will carry. The Boat four men shall carry cross the Isle & capable when a float to carry twenty men & sufficiently strong - Should I reside on that Isle & Health permits I am sure that all concerned will be satisfied with my conduct as I know well what is to be done there for the preservation and aid to navigation.
