Halifax Nova Scotia 13
28th July 1802

Sir

Having maturely considered the nature of your services, as superintendant [sic] of the settlement on the Isle of Sable; and confiding in your zeal, judgement, and utmost exertions to promote the objects which government have contemplated in forming that settlement, as explained in the instructions given you by Sir John Wentworth and us last fall; We do hereby agree to allow you one hundred pounds p annum, for one year for your services, to commence on the first day of this month, together with suitable provisions for yourself and wife; This sum so be considered in full of all Emolument, as the province of the Island.


Reply, bring an agreement between the Comm. And Morris as Superintendent of the Island for one year commencing 1 July 1802.
