Sable Island July 26th 1820

Dear Sir I am happy at our unexpected opportunity of writing to yo to let you know we are all well & nothing particular has happened here since the last information you had from us, we have pulled down the west end house, and I have removed it to the haul, over grounds, a place about three miles to the eastward of where it formerly stood, as the ground where on it stood has washed away, …. the stock is all in good case ...but the season is a little against the gardens on account of the Dry weather

There is two elegant Mare Colts here from the Mare you sent here, the one better than two years old and the other about a year & half which I should be glad to send off if you should wish it. There has been nothing strange appeared on the shore on no part of the Island & Remain Dear Sir your mich Oblig'd Humble Servant

Edward Hodgson
