I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication dated the 12th Aug in which by command of His Excellecny the Lieutenant Governor your tender for my acceptance the situation of Superintendent of Sable Island and beg you will make known to His Excellency my acceptance of the offered place together with my grateful acknowlegement of the favor bestowed.
I can be ready with my family to leave thus for the Island by the first of November or sooner if required. As soon as I get metters arranged here I will proceed to Halifax for instructions [illegible]
