Cannabis consultation

During October 2017, the province consulted with Nova Scotians about their thoughts on the upcoming legalization of cannabis.

The province asked for input on key issues including the legal age to purchase and use recreational cannabis, where it can be purchased, and where it can be used.

Feedback was collected through an online survey, stakeholder sessions, and written submissions.

  • 31,000 online surveys were completed
  • 194 individuals representing 49 organizations and 41 municipalities participated in stakeholder sessions
  • 24 written submissions

The views submitted through this consultation will help inform government’s development of a well-regulated legal market for cannabis.
