HEALTH--DRUG AWARENESS WEEK
  ------------------------------------------------------------
Health regions across the province are gearing up for
National Drug Awareness Week taking place Nov. 19 to 25.

The central, eastern, northern and western health regions
will initiate their own special events to effectively
generate widespread drug awareness in the different
  communities.

"Provincial participation in National Drug Awareness Week is
of the utmost importance if we are to reduce drug abuse in
Nova Scotia," said Health Minister Ron Stewart. "It's the
time for individuals and communities to join hands in a
concentrated effort to address the issue of alcohol and
other drug abuse in their region."

Metro Drug Dependency Services invites the public to join
them for an open house Wednesday, Nov. 22 from 3 p.m. to 6
p.m. at their new offices, at Camp Hill Medical Centre, 1763
  Robie Street, 4th Floor.

The open house offers an opportunity for the public to learn
more about how they can help prevent alcohol and other drug
abuse problems to show that "together we can make a
  difference."
