EDUCATION/CULTURE--COMMUNITY COLLEGE SHOWCASE

  A Community College showcase highlighting different training
  opportunities and presentations on topics for today's
  workplace will be held between noon and 8 p.m. Wednesday at
  the Nova Scotia Community College, Institute of Technology
  Campus, Leeds Street, Halifax.
  
  Eight one-hour presentations, given by industry
  representatives and college faculty, are designed for high
  school and university students, persons seeking specialized
  training or upgrading, business and industry and the general
  public.
  
  Topics include: overview of the Internet, new software and
  equipment for multimedia computer presentations, current
  status of computer graphics, jobs in the expanding
  teleservice sector, manufacturing enterprise in the year
  2000, and the skills needed to start a successful business.
  
  Information will be available from industry-experienced
  faculty and admissions staff on more than 100 programs
  offered by the different campuses of the Nova Scotia
  Community College, including business, applied arts,
  engineering and computer technologies, health sciences and
  apprenticed trades.
