ECONOMIC RENEWAL--NEW CHAIR OF THE BOARD APPOINTED

Marie Comeau has been appointed as chair of the board of the
Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation, effective
immediately, Economic Renewal Minister Robbie Harrison
announced today.
Ms. Comeau is a member of the Acadian community in Digby
County and serves as vice-president of the Conseil Culturel
Acadien de la Nouvelle Ecosse, director of the Nova Scotia
Acadian Federation and for the past two years has served on
the board of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation.
She is also extensively involved in women's issues and says
she would like to see more women involved in the film
industry.
"The appointment of Digby's Marie Comeau emphasizes the
provincial nature of the film industry and a commitment to
represent all areas of the province in a growing sector of
our economy," Mr. Harrison said.
The Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation is the
provincial Crown corporation that invests in film and video
produced in the province and provides location services to
out of province producers.
