NOVA SCOTIA LABOUR RELATIONS BOARD-CEASE AND DESIST ORDER

The Construction Industry Panel of the Labour Relations Board
announced today that it has taken action to end an illegal work
stoppage which commenced on Mar. 26, 1996, involving a number of
employees of Dineen Construction (Atlantic) Inc., Ideal Glass
Ltd.,Landis & Gyr Powers Ltd., J.W. Lindsay Enterprises Ltd.,
Atlantic Drywall& Painting Ltd., Cahill-State Atlantic Ltd.,
Comstock Canada, Pentecost Enterprises, Rodney Enterprises Ltd.,
Sigma Construction Limited and Viking Fire Protection Inc. at the
new Halifax Infirmary, Halifax. 

The complaint was filed with the panel on Mar. 26, 1996,
requesting the panel to issue a cease and desist order against
certain members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners
of America Local Union 83, International Brotherhood of Painters
& Allied Trades Local Union 1439, United Association of
Journeymen & Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry
of the United States & Canada Local Union 56, Labourers
International Union of North America Local Union 615,
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 625, Sheet
Metal Workers' International Association Local Union 409, who are
participating in the illegal work stoppage. 

An interim order has been issued by the panel directing certain
members of United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America,
Local Union 83, International Brotherhood of Painters & Allied
Trades Local Union 1439, United Association of Journeymen &
Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the
United States&Canada Local Union 56, Labourers International
Union of North America Local Union 615, International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers, Local 625, Sheet Metal Workers'
International Association Local Union 409, who are participating
in an illegal work stoppage to cease and desist and to return to
work at their next regularly scheduled shift.
