Maritime Launch of Christopher Ondaatje's SINDH REVISITED

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia will host the Maritime launch
party for Sindh Revisited: A Journey in the Footsteps of Captain
Sir Richard Francis Burton by Christopher Ondaatje at 7:30 p.m.,
Friday, April 26.

Mr. Ondaatje, a member of AGNS' board of governors, has been
fascinated with the enigmatic Sir Richard Francis Burton, 19th
Century explorer, scholar, poet and British secret agent, since
reading a biography of him more than 25 years ago.

Despite the presence of several biographies on Burton, Ondaatje
believed there were large gaps in the startling drama that was
the explorer's life. Sindh Revisited is the author's account of
his personal and physical quest to uncover the secrets of the
early life of Sir Richard Burton. The result is an account of a
man's psychological and philosophical journey in search of
answers that have long mystified biographers and historians.

All proceeds from the sales of Sindh Revisited at the reception
will be donated to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
