EDUCATION/CULTURE--"GARDEN TREASURES"

The Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design is hosting a craft
display entitled "Garden Treasures".

It features crafts and products made for or from the garden and
will be featured July 10 to Aug. 7 at the centre, 1683 Barrington
St., Halifax.

These displays are part of the centre's ongoing production crafts
display program. This allows the public to look at the work of
Nova Scotia producers without the pressure to buy. Information is
made available for people who wish to know where the products can
be purchased. The displays are a good sample of the range and
quality of crafts available in this province.

"Garden Treasures" promotes a variety of beautiful crafts and
products, such as: wood furniture, bug free shirts, stone
sculptures, stained glass bird feeders, herbal products, and much
more.

This display includes work from Beachcombings, organic, La Have;
Dor Sew Enterprise, bug free clothing, Mabou; Flora By Cora,
wood, Grand Pre: Grunt's Art Glass, glass, Aylesford; Lunenburg
Forge and Ironworks, metal, Lunenburg; My Beautiful Garden,
stone, North Lakevale; Out of Wood, wood, Bridgetown; Raspberry
Bay Stone, stone, Bass River; Suzanne Craig Designs, visual art,
Mabou; Tangled Garden, organic, Grand Pre; The Herb Garden, food,
Chester; The Pottery Garden, clay, West Bay; and Twigs Plants and
Gifts, organic, Halifax.

The Centre for Craft and Design is dedicated to preserving and
promoting the craft industry of Nova Scotia. The centre is part
of the cultural affairs division of the Department of Education
and Culture.

"Garden Treasures" may be viewed Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no charge
for admission.
