NOTE TO EDITORS--REPEAT-SCHOOL GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY

A ground-breaking ceremony will be held today, Thursday, Oct. 10
at 1 p.m. for the province's first elementary school - Porters
Lake-Lake Echo - to be built through public-private sector
partnerships. To get to the school site, take Highway 107, and
take Exit 19 at Porter's Lake. From Exit 19, take West Porters
Lake Road to Highway 7, turn left and left again at the O'Connell
Subdivision. The school site is located at the end of this road
on the left.

Education and Culture Minister Robbie Harrison will put aside the
traditional shovel and break ground for the school with an
excavator. Others attending the event will include Environment
Minister Wayne Adams; Sheldon Doyle, vice-chair, Halifax Regional
School Board; and Bill Wade, president, Nova Learning Futures,
Inc.

A short reception will immediately follow at Porters Lake
Community Centre, including brief remarks from participants. As
well, the school plans will be on display. Porters Lake Community
Centre is on Highway 7, approximately two kilometres toward
Porters Lake from the O'Connell Subdivision (map available).
