AGRICULTURE/MARKETING--DISCOVERING AGRICULTURE
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Displays, special stage programs and activities are features of
the Ag Cot Discovery Centre opening at the Atlantic Winter Fair
this weekend.

The centre is a unique component of the fair offering a chance
for all visitors to learn about agriculture in Nova Scotia, with
about 20 different displays.

This year the Ag Cot Discovery Centre is featuring the Taste of
Nova Scotia Quality Food. Each day different Taste of Nova Scotia
program members will have samples of their products for visitors
to taste.

"This is a great opportunity for people to learn more about the
importance of these agriculture industries and the food we
produce in Nova Scotia," said Agriculture and Marketing Minister
Guy Brown. "The agri food industry creates jobs and contributes
to the economy of the province."

Friday, Oct. 18 will be children's day. To date over 3000
children have preregistered to attend school day.

Ag Cot Centre is open daily during fair times Oct. 12-14 and Oct.
18-20. The project is coordinated by the Nova Scotia Agricultural
Awareness Committee in partnership with the Atlantic Winter Fair.
