The Department of Transportation and Public Works is advising
Surettes Island area residents that Indian Sluice Bridge will be
re-open to regular traffic this evening.

Two crews were brought in to replace all u-bolts and an
inspection of the structure has been completed.

"The department would like to thank the people of Surettes Island
and surrounding communities for their cooperation during this
time when necessary repairs were carried out," said
Transportation and Public Works Minister Don Downe.

"Safety is our main concern in a situation like this and I'd like
to thank area residents for their patience ... I also want to
acknowledge department crews who worked to complete the necessary
work ahead of schedule," said Mr. Downe.
