BUSINESS/CONSUMER SERVICES-CONSUMER AND COMMERCIAL RELATIONS MOVE
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The Department of Business and Consumer Services has announced
that its Consumer and Commercial Relations office in New Glasgow
will soon share an office with the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

On Monday, Dec. 16, Consumer and Commercial Relations will be
open for business at the RMV facility, 608 MacLellan's Brook
Road, New Glasgow. The office will be closed Friday, Dec. 13 to
facilitate the move.

"This co-location will improve customer service by providing more
of our services under one roof," said Business and Consumer
Services Minister Sandy Jolly. "There is always a high volume of
traffic at the Registry of Motor Vehicles and those people will
now be able to access more of the department's programs in one
trip."

Consumer and Commercial Relations offers a wide range of consumer
programs including debtor assistance, residential tenancies, and
consumer complaints and inquiries. It also aids consumers and
businesses in obtaining licences and resolving disputes. Services
are offered in nine locations throughout the province.

"Service is our business -- and we are always exploring ways to
improve what we offer to Nova Scotians," said Ms. Jolly. "By
combining offices, our department is moving toward providing
single-window access to government services. In fact, we plan to
open 14 multi-service centres across the province over the next
three to five years."

The new mailing address for Consumer and Commercial Relations is
P.O. Box 236, New Glasgow, N.S., B2H 5E3. Customers can also
reach the office by phone at 752-0975 or toll-free at
1-800-941-5550. The fax number is 755-7049.
