HOME-COMING CHRISTMAS

PREMIER--ANNE MURRAY'S HOME-COMING CHRISTMAS
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Premier John Savage announced today the Province of Nova Scotia
will honor singer Anne Murray at a Home-Coming Christmas
reception and luncheon at Province House, Wednesday, Dec. 18.

"We are very pleased to be honoring one of Nova Scotia's greatest
ambassadors," said the premier. "For over 30 years Anne Murray
has been pleasing crowds around the world. Her international
success has created immeasurable publicity for Nova Scotia as Ms.
Murray has always highlighted that she is a Canadian singer and
in particular, a Nova Scotian."

Entertainment at the reception will be provided by other talented
Nova Scotians: singer John Gracie, cellist Shimon Walt, guitarist
Scott Macmillan, fiddler Dave MacIsaac, fiddler/mandolin player
Gordon Stobbe, guitarist Ken Enman, and the St. Theresa's Folk
Choir of Halifax.

"I believe it is only fitting that we entertain Anne Murray with
the same great Nova Scotian talent that she has been providing to
audiences everywhere," said the premier.

Ms. Murray, a native of Springhill, will be performing at the
Halifax Metro Centre as part of her Canadian tour. Her industry
achievements include four Grammy Awards, two American Music
Awards, 25 Juno Awards and worldwide album sales of over 25
million.

Reception guests will be donating food items to the Metro Food
Bank.
