ECONOMIC RENEWAL--TOURISM NOVA SCOTIA - VIC STAFFING 1997

Tourism Nova Scotia is looking for bagpipers. And car counters.
Tourism Nova Scotia is also looking for qualified travel
counsellors, store clerks, maintenance workers and interviewers
to staff the Nova Scotia Visitor Information Centres and other
operations around the province, between May and October next
year.

Michele McKenzie, executive director of Tourism Nova Scotia, said
the provincial agency is looking for people who will maintain the
province's reputation for excellence in a very competitive
tourism marketplace. "We're looking for enthusiastic Nova
Scotians so they can help us show ourselves at our very best."

Suitable candidates will have leadership, communication, and
supervisory skills. They will also need tourism-related
experience, first-aid, and some positions require command of a
second language. The deadline for applications is Jan. 17, 1997.

Positions are available at the Visitor Information Centres in:
Amherst, Digby, Halifax (International Airport, waterfront and
downtown), Peggy's Cove, Pictou/Wood Islands, Port Hastings,
Portland, Main; Yarmouth, and North Sydney (on the ferry to
Newfoundland).
