PREMIER--ROSS BRAGG DEATH A LOSS FOR NOVA SCOTIA
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Premier John Savage said today he is "deeply saddened" by the
death of former cabinet colleague and MLA Ross Bragg.

"Nova Scotia has lost an outstanding public figure. I have lost a
good friend. Ross will be profoundly missed by all those who had
contact with him."

Premier Savage said that Mr. Bragg was tireless in his efforts to
make Nova Scotia a better place in which to live.

"This was a goal he pursued both as a provincial cabinet minister
and as a private citizen. Ross was an unabashed supporter of all
that is good about Nova Scotia."

Premier Savage said that as a businessman, Ross Bragg was able to
bring a business perspective to government.

"That is why I asked Ross to become this government's first
minister responsible for the Economic Renewal Agency, an agency
Ross helped create. Ross was also a fighter, a trait he amply
displayed both in public life and during his long battle with ill
health.

"On behalf of Nova Scotians I want to express our deepest
sympathy to Ross's wife Cathy and members of his family."
