NATURAL RESOURCES--MAY 29 DEADLINE FOR MOOSE LICENCE APPLICATIONS

Nova Scotia hunters are reminded that applications for the 1997
moose licence draw must be submitted by May 29.

"Application forms are available at Department of Natural
Resources offices across the province," Natural Resources
Minister Eleanor Norrie said today in issuing the reminder. "To
be eligible for the draw, applications must be received at the
department's game licence office in Halifax no later than
Thursday, May 29."

The draw for the 200 licences occurs June 25 in Baddeck. About
10,000 applications are received each year.

The fee for an application is $5.75, HST included. The fee for a
moose hunting licence is $57.50, HST included.

The 12-day moose season opens Oct. 13 and takes place in
Inverness and Victoria counties in Cape Breton.
