FINANCE--MINISTER TO ADDRESS BUSINESS GROUPS ON STATE OF FINANCES

Over the next two weeks, Finance Minister Bill Gillis will be
speaking to business groups in Springhill, Bridgewater, Yarmouth
and Kentville.
The minister will deliver a presentation on the state of Nova
Scotia's finances, including an outlook for the economy in the
coming year.
Dr. Gillis said the department hopes to make such presentations a
regular feature of the government's dialogue with the business
community and other groups in the province. A series of followup
meetings are being prepared for the fall prior to planning for
the 1998 provincial budget.
The first series of meetings are:
Monday, June 23 -- Springhill, noon, with the local chamber of
commerce, Jade Palace Restaurant.
Wednesday, June 25 -- Bridgewater, 4 p.m., with the local chamber
of commerce, Nova Scotia Community College, Lunenburg Campus.
Friday, July 4 -- Yarmouth, 7:30 a.m., with the local chamber of
commerce, Rodd Grande Hotel.
Monday, July 7 -- Kentville, noon, with the Rotary Club, Wandlyn
Motel at Coldbrook off Highway 101, Exit 14.
