NATURAL RESOURCES--OPPORTUNITIES TO BE OUTLINED AT SABLE FORUM
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Nova Scotia businesses will have the opportunity to become more
involved in the Sable Offshore Energy Project (SOEP) through an
information forum scheduled for Halifax on Tuesday, June 24.

SOEP and the Offshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia are
sponsoring the forum, scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the
Westin Nova Scotian Hotel, 1181 Hollis St.

SOEP's facilities alliance and drilling contractors will outline
the next steps for the selection of subcontractors to implement
the contracting strategy to maximize Nova Scotia content in the
project.

Frank Sommerville, business development adviser with the Nova
Scotia Offshore Energy Office, said the session "will enable
hundreds of Nova Scotia businesses, in numerous fields, to make
key contacts with the alliance partners and identify
opportunities to become contractors or subcontractors in the
Sable project."

Specific areas to be highlighted include: drilling services,
fabrication of offshore facilities and structures, fabrication of
onshore gas and liquids facilities, automation control systems,
offshore pipeline installation, and transport and installation of
offshore structures.
