ENVIRONMENT--YOUTH PROMOTES A GREENER NOVA SCOTIA
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The Nova Scotia Youth Conservation Corps invites all to pitch in
during its annual provincewide Trash Bash on Wednesday, Aug. 20,
and be a part of making Nova Scotia a greener place.

Conservation corps crews from Yarmouth to North Aspy will host
Trash Bash events to clean up local areas and promote
environmental awareness. Garbage bags and gloves will be
provided. Some events will also feature barbecues, family fun and
games. Details for your area are available at a number listed
below.

The Nova Scotia Youth Conservation Corps, a program run through
the Department of the Environment, employs young men and women
for the summer to provide short-and long-term environmental
services to Nova Scotian communities.

For the past two months, crews have been working on
community-initiated projects such as stream enhancement, trail
development, waste assessments and education workshops with the
goal of protecting and conserving Nova Scotia's natural
environment. To learn more about these projects, join a Trash
Bash in your community.
