ILS Strategic Source List

The Disability Supports Program is proceeding with a new process to recruit and approve service providers for the Independent Living Support (ILS) Program.

The Strategic Source List is a flexible process which will provide an updated, expanded and approved list of qualified ILS Service Providers throughout the province. Applications for those interested in delivering supports through the ILS program are now available. All interested parties are expected to submit their completed applications by January 19, 2015.

Work on replacing the outdated Homes for Special Care Act is underway. The new legislation will enable a person-directed approach to service delivery with an emphasis on helping people live in their own homes and communities. The legislation will help establish a range of services, supports and funding, while protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities so they can access government services and programs. Currently a legislative framework is being developed. It is anticipated new legislation will be tabled in 2016.
