Shaping our Physician Workforce

The National Picture

Nova Scotia strongly endorses and supports the need for national physician planning. As a small province interacting with a mobile and talented physician workforce, taking an integrated national approach helps to align supply and demand of our physician resources.

Nova Scotia is part of the Committee On Health Workforce and supports the national Physician Planning Task Team and Technical Working Group. We are working with our academic partners to better align education and community needs. We're also working with health provider organizations to implement a national strategy for physician planning.
