As of July 1, 2015 the inspection, compliance and enforcement functions from several provincial government departments came together under Nova Scotia Environment.
A safe food supply and ensuring food is protected from contamination is critical to protecting the health of our communities.
In Nova Scotia, the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Enforcement Division is responsible for ensuring food service establishments operate in compliance with food safety regulations.
The results of restaurant inspections are publicly available and consumers may alert Food Safety Specialists with that Department of food safety concerns via the website. Food safety fact sheets are also available for a number of food related issues.
