Change of fire dispatch number for 911

Fire departments need to notify the Emergency Management Office if their fire dispatch number changes. They need to notify the Emergency Management Office at least 2 weeks before the change.

Use the Fire Dispatch Number Change for 911 Form to notify the Emergency Management Office of a change to your fire dispatch number.

The fire dispatch number can only change on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday during business hours. It can’t change the day before, the day of or the day after a statutory holiday.

Who can use this form

Fire departments need to use this form if their dispatch number is changing.

The Emergency Management Office needs to receive the form at least 2 weeks before the number changes.

What you need to do

  1. Complete the form.
  2. Send the completed form by email.

How long it takes

It should take 2 weeks for the change to be updated with 911. It can take longer if more information is needed or if your form hasn’t been filled in correctly.

There is no cost to submit the form.

  • former fire dispatch number
  • new fire dispatch provider
  • name, phone number and email of representative of new fire dispatch provider
  • new fire dispatch number
  • date the change takes place
