US TRADE BALANCE, DECEMBER AND ANNUAL 2017

DECEMBER

 

In December 2017, the US goods and services trade deficit increased by $2.7 billion from November 2017 to $53.1 billion.

US goods exports increased by $3.4 billion and goods imports were up $6.0 billion, resulting in an increase in the goods trade deficit of $2.6 billion to $73.3 billion. Service exports increased $143 million while services imports increased $260 million, resulting in an decrease of $117 million to the service trade surplus to $20.2 billion.

 

 

 

ANNUAL

The 2017 the US trade deficit increased $61.2 billion to $566.0 billion.  The annual goods deficit increased by $49.0 billion and the services surplus decreased $3.7 billion.
