US CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, MARCH 2018

The US Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers decreased 0.1 per cent in March from February, on a seasonally adjusted basis. In March, the energy index declined 2.8 per cent on falling gasoline prices. Food prices were up 0.1 per cent, and shelter rose 0.4 per cent month to month.  

Year over year (March 2018 compared to March 2017) consumer prices were up 2.4 per cent (not seasonally adjusted) as food prices were up 1.3 per cent and energy prices were up 7.0 per cent. The all items less food and energy index rose 2.1 per cent, year over year.
