CANADA INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE TRADE APRIL 2018

                                                                                             

 

 

In April 2018, Canadian merchandise trade (balance of payments basis, seasonally adjusted) posted a $1.9 billion deficit. 

Exports are up 1.6% over March 2018 to $48.6 billion, and increased 3.1 percent over April 2017. Imports decreased by 2.5 per cent from March 2018 to $50.5 billion and increased 4.7% over April 2017.

In April 2018, the Canadian merchandise trade surplus with the United States (balance of payments basis, seasonally adjusted)  increased to $3.6 billion over March 2018.

 

 

  

Year-to-date

In Canada Jan-Apr 2018, the total merchandise trade deficit reached $10.6 billion. Year to date goods exports were valued at $188.1 billion and year-to-date goods imports were valued at $198.7 billion.
