NEW MOTOR VEHICLE SALES, JANUARY-JULY 2018

Year-to-date

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jul 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased 7.6% over Jan-Jul 2017. The 33,218 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Jul 2018 represent a sales value of $1,188.5 million, down 7.0% over Jan-Jul 2017.

In Canada Jan-Jul 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased -0.2% over Jan-Jul 2017. The 1,238,480 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Jul 2018 represent a sales value of $51.6 billion, up 4.8% over Jan-Jul 2017.

 

 

Country of Manufacture

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jul 2018,

• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Unit Sales decreased 12.7% (74.2% share) over Jan-Jul 2017.
• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Sales Value decreased 11.2% (76.9% share) over Jan-Jul 2017.

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jul 2018,

• New Motor Vehicles manufactured in other countries Unit Sales increased 10.7% (25.8% share) over Jan-Jul 2017.
• New Motor Vehicles manufactured in other countries Sales Value increased 10.5% (23.1% share) over Jan-Jul 2017.

 

 

Passenger Cars and Trucks

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jul 2018,

• passenger car Unit Sales decreased 8.2% (35.4% share) to 11,755 units over Jan-Jul 2017.
• passenger car Sales Value decreased 7.7% (26.2% share) to $312 million over Jan-Jul 2017

 In Nova Scotia Jan-Jul 2018,

• truck Unit Sales decreased 7.3% (64.6% share) to 21,463 units over Jan-Jul 2017.
• truck Sales Value decreased 6.7% (73.8% share) to $877 million over Jan-Jul 2017.

 

Average Prices

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jul 2018,

• new motor vehicles average price increased 0.7% to $35,778 over Jan-Jul 2017.
• passenger car average price increased 0.5% to $26,534 over Jan-Jul 2017.
• truck average price increased 0.7% to $40,841 over Jan-Jul 2017.

 

In Canada Jan-Jul 2018, the new motor vehicles average price increased 5.0% to $41,629 over Jan-Jul 2017.
