NEW MOTOR VEHICLE SALES, JANUARY-OCTOBER 2018

Year-to-date

In Nova Scotia Jan-Oct 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased 9.4% over Jan-Oct 2017. The 46,906 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Oct 2018 represent a sales value of $1,687.4 million, down 7.8% over Jan-Oct 2017.

In Canada Jan-Oct 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased 1.1% over Jan-Oct 2017. The 1,768,308 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Oct 2018 represent a sales value of $73.4 billion, up 2.9% over Jan-Oct 2017.

 

Country of Manufacturer

In Nova Scotia Jan-Oct 2018,

• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Unit Sales decreased 13.8% (73.6% share) over Jan-Oct 2017.
• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Sales Value decreased 11.5% (76.3% share) over Jan-Oct 2017.

In Nova Scotia Jan-Oct 2018,

• for New Motor Vehicles manufactured overseas, Unit Sales increased 5.6% (26.4% share) over Jan-Oct 2017.
• for New Motor Vehicles manufactured overseas, Sales Value increased 6.6% (23.7% share) over Jan-Oct 2017.

 

 

Passenger Cars and Trucks

In Nova Scotia Jan-Oct 2018,

• passenger car Unit Sales decreased 15.6% (33.4% share) to 15,684 units over Jan-Oct 2017.
• passenger car Sales Value decreased 15.5% (24.7% share) to $416 million over Jan-Oct 2017

In Nova Scotia Jan-Oct 2018,

• truck Unit Sales decreased 5.9% (66.6% share) to 31,222 units over Jan-Oct 2017.
• truck Sales Value decreased 4.9% (75.3% share) to $1,271 million over Jan-Oct 2017.

 

Average Prices

In Nova Scotia Jan-Oct 2018,

• the new motor vehicles average price increased 1.8% to $35,974 over Jan-Oct 2017.
• the passenger car average price increased 0.2% to $26,526 over Jan-Oct 2017.
• the truck average price increased 1.0% to $40,721 over Jan-Oct 2017.

In Canada Jan-Oct 2018, the new motor vehicles average price increased 4.0% to $41,509 over Jan-Oct 2017.
