December 17, 2018EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, OCTOBER 2018 Euro Area
In October 2018, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €14.0 billion .
- Euro Area (EA19) export values increased €21.4 billion (11.4 per cent) to €209.7 billion compared to October 2017.
- Euro Area (EA19) import values increased €25.2 billion (14.8 per cent) to €195.8 billion compared to October 2017.
- In October 2018, it was also reported that intra-euro area trade increased 8.7 per cent to €175.6 billion compared to October 2017.
In October 2018, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada recorded a surplus of €1.3 billion.
In October 2018, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States recorded a surplus of €11.4 billion.
European Union
In October 2018, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a deficit of €7.7 billion .
- European Union (EU28) export values increased €21.3 billion (13.3 per cent) to €180.7 billion compared to October 2017.
- European Union (EU28) import values increased €27.1 billion (16.8 per cent) to €188.4 billion compared to October 2017.
- In October 2018, it was also reported that intra-EU28 trade increased 7.9 per cent to €319.9 billion compared to October 2017.
In October 2018, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada recorded a surplus of €1.1 billion.
In October 2018, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States recorded a surplus of €14.0 billion.
