JAPAN CPI INFLATION, FEBRUARY

Japan's inflation was stable in February, rising by 0.2 per cent year over year for all items.  Energy price inflation has slowed to 4.5 per cent year over year in February while food prices fell by 1.4 per cent.  Excluding fresh food and energy, Japan's underlying inflation was 0.4 per cent.

Inflation has been slowed in many advanced economies as oil prices abated.  Year-over-year price growth has slowed for Canada, Nova Scotia and Japan in recent months.  However, Japan's inflation remains slower than price growth in most advanced economies.
