JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, MARCH 2019

Current Account

 

 

In March 2019, Japan reported

  • the Net international trade (goods and services) changed to a deficit increasing 332 billion yen to 94 billion yen,
  • primary income surplus decreased 241 billion yen to 1,446 billion yen and
  • secondary income (transfers) deficit increased 54 billion yen to 81 billion yen.

As a result, the current account surplus decreased 626 billion yen to 1,271 billion yen over February 2019.

Trade Balance

In March 2019, Japan 's

  • goods exports decreased 159 billion yen to 6,382 billion yen,
  • goods imports increased 150 billion yen to 6,487 billion yen,
  • As a result, net international goods trade changed to a deficit increasing 309 billion yen to 106 billion yen, over February 2019.
  • Net international services trade surplus decreased 23 billion yen to 12 billion yen, over February 2019.

As a result, Net international trade (goods and services) changed to a deficit increasing 332 billion yen to 94 billion yen, over February 2019
