June 06, 2019US TRADE BALANCE, APRIL 2019 In April 2019, US Goods and Services trade deficit narrowed by $1.1 billion to $50.8 billion. The goods trade deficit narrowed by $1.0 billion to $71.7 billion. The services trade surplus widened by $0.1 billion to $20.9 billion.
Monthly exports decreased by $4.6 billon to $206.8 billion. Goods exports were down $4.4 billion to $136.9 billion, and services exports declined by $185 million to $69.9 billion.
US imports were down $5.7 billion to $257.6 billion, reflecting a $5.4 billion decrease to $208.7 billion in goods imports and a $297 million decrease to $49.0 billion in services imports.
On a year-to-date basis, the US trade deficit widened by $4.1 billion to $205.4 billion. The goods trade deficit narrowed by $2.8 billion to $288.2 billion. The services trade surplus narrowed by $6.8 billion to $82.8 billion.
