TRADE BY CMA AND NON-CMA EXPORTERS 2010-2018

 

HALIFAX CMA

In the period 2010 to 2018, Halifax CMA exported between $0.7 billion and $1.2 billion worth of goods to the global market. In this period, the number of exporting establishments ranged from 413 to 509 and the average value of exports per exporting establishment ranged from $1.7 million and $2.7 million.

In 2018, the average value of exports per exporting establishment was $2.4 million. The value of exports increased 19.2% to $1.2 billion and the number of exporters increased 8.5% to 509.

 

 Halifax CMA Sectors

In Halifax CMA 2018, in twenty industrial sectors, 509 exporting establishments exported a total of $1.2 billion worth of goods into the international market.

The sector with the largest share of total exports ($0.5 billion or 38.8% share) was Manufacturing, The highest average exports per exporting establishment ($17.1 million) was the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing industry, and the largest number of exporting establishments (153) was in the Wholesale industry.

In 2018, the value of the Manufacturing industry increased 51.6% and the number of exporting establishments decreased 1.0% over the previous year.

 

 

 

NON-CMA NOVA SCOTIA

In the period 2010 to 2018, non-CMA Nova Scotia exported between $3.0 billion and $4.2 billion worth of goods to the global market. In this period, the number of exporting establishments ranged from 501 to 535and the average value of exports per exporting establishment ranged from $5.9 million and $8.2 million.

In 2018, the average value of exports per exporting establishment was $8.2 million. The value of exports increased 8.4% to $4.2 billion and the number of exporters increased 1.4% to 508.

 

Nova Scotia Non-CMA Sectors

In 2018 Nova Scotia non-CMA sectors, in twenty industrial sectors, 508 exporting establishments exported a total of $4.2 billion worth of goods into the international market.

The sector with the largest share of total exports ($3.2 billion or 77.7% share) was Manufacturing. The highest average exports per exporting establishment ($17.7 million) was the Manufacturing industry, and the largest number of exporting establishments (183) was the Manufacturing industry.

In 2018, the value of the Manufacturing industry increased 10.6% and the number of exporting establishments decreased 4.2% over the previous year.
