December 17, 2019EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, OCTOBER 2019 EURO AREA
In October 2019, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €28.0 billion.
- Euro Area (EA19) export values increased €8.6 billion (4.1 per cent) to €217.9 billion compared to October 2018.
- Euro Area (EA19) import values increased €6.2 billion (-3.2 per cent) to €189.9 billion compared to October 2018.
In October 2019, it was also reported that intra-euro area trade decreased 1.4 per cent to €174.9 billion compared to October 2018.
In October 2019, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada recorded a surplus of €1.5 billion.
In October 2019, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States recorded a surplus of €12.7 billion.
EUROPEAN UNION
In October 2019, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €2.2 billion.
- European Union (EU28) export values increased €10.0 billion (5.6 per cent) to €190.1 billion compared to October 2018.
- European Union (EU28) import values decreased €0.2 billion (-0.1 per cent) to €187.8 billion compared to October 2018.
In October 2019, it was also reported that intra-EU28 trade decreased 0.7 per cent to €322.0 billion compared to October 2018.
In October 2019, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada recorded a surplus of €1.0 billion.
In October 2019, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States recorded a surplus of €15.3 billion.
