CANADA'S BALANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS 2019Q4

FOURTH QUARTER

 

In Canada 2019 Q4, the seasonally adjusted current account.

  • Receipts increased 0.4% ($0.9 billions) over 2019 Q3 and increased 3.7% ($8.0 billions) over 2018 Q4, to $223.7 billion.
  • Payments trade decreased 0.5% ($1.2 billions) over 2019 Q3 and increased 0.4% ($1.0 billions) over 2018 Q4, to $232.5 billion.
  • The resulting Current account trade deficit narrowed by $2.1 billions to $8.8 billion over 2019 Q3, and narrowed by $7.0 billions over 2018 Q4,

                                                                                             

                                                                     

In 2019 Q4,

  • Exports G&S trade decreased 1.1% ($2.0 billions) over 2019 Q3 and increased 3.7% ($4.2 billions) over 2018 Q4, to $180.5 billion.
  • Imports G&S trade decreased 1.2% ($2.2 billions) over 2019 Q3 and decreased 0.6% ($1.1 billions) over 2018 Q4, to $188.8 billion.
  • The resulting G&S trade deficit narrowed by $0.3 billions to $8.3 billion over 2019 Q3, and narrowed by $5.4 billions over 2018 Q4.
