July 16, 2020EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, MAY 2020 EURO AREA
In May 2020, the Euro Area (EA19) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €9.4 billion compared to April 2020.
- The Euro Area (EA19) Export Trade increased €7.7 billion (5.7%) to €143.3 billion.
- The Euro Area (EA19) Import Trade increased €0.9 billion (0.7%) to €133.9 billion.
EUROPEAN UNION
In May 2020, the European Union (EU27) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €7.1 billion compared to April 2020.
- The European Union (EU27) Export Trade increased €4.7 billion (3.8%) to €129.8 billion.
- The European Union (EU27) Import Trade decreased €2.2 billion (-1.8%) to €122.6 billion.
In May 2020 compared with April 2020, the European Union (EU27) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with:
- the United Kingdom recorded a surplus of €5.5 billion.
- Canada recorded a surplus of €1.2 billion.
- the United States recorded a surplus of €11.2 billion.
