CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JUNE 2020

YEAR-OVER-YEAR (June 2020 vs June 2019)

In Nova Scotia, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) (index 2002=100) increased 0.1 per cent over June 2019.  The CPI excluding food and energy increased 1.4 per cent over June 2019. 

In Canada, the CPI increased 0.7 per cent over June 2019. The year-over-year increase in the CPI recorded in June 2020 was the largest monthly increase in inflation since March 2011. The CPI excluding food and energy increased 1.0 per cent over June 2019. 

In Halifax, the CPI increased 0.4 per cent over June 2019. 

 

MONTH-OVER-MONTH (June 2020 vs May 2020)

In Nova Scotia, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) (index 2002=100) increased 0.8 per cent from May 2020. The CPI excluding food and energy increased 0.6 per cent from May 2020. 

In Canada, the CPI increased 0.8 per cent from May 2020. The CPI excluding food and energy increased 0.5 per cent from May 2020. 

In Halifax, the CPI increased 0.8 per cent from May 2020.
