August 07, 2020LABOUR FORCE SURVEY - JULY 2020 In Nova Scotia July 2020, (seasonally adjusted, month-over-month and year-over-year):
- Labour force decreased 1.7 per cent (8,500) from June 2020 to 489,200 and decreased 2.1 per cent (10,700) over July 2019
- Employment increased 0.8 per cent (3,400) from June 2020 to 436,500 and decreased 5.6 per cent (26,100) over July 2019
- Unemployment decreased 18.3 per cent (11,800) from June 2020 to 52,800 and increased 41.6 per cent (15,500) over July 2019
- Unemployment Rate decreased 2.2 percentage points from June 2020 to 10.8 per cent.
In Canada July 2020, (seasonally adjusted, month-over-month and year-over-year):
- Labour force increased 0.8 per cent (149,500) from June 2020 to 20,029,500 and decreased 0.8 per cent (161,700) over July 2019
- Employment increased 2.4 per cent (418,500) from June 2020 to 17,845,900 and decreased 6.3 per cent (1,192,000) over July 2019
- Unemployment decreased 11.0 per cent (269,000) from June 2020 to 2,183,600 and increased 89.3 per cent (1,030,300) over July 2019
- Unemployment Rate decreased 1.4 percentage points from June 2020 to 10.9 per cent.
In Halifax July 2020, (seasonally adjusted, month-over-month and year-over-year):
- Labour force increased 3.1 per cent (7,500) from June 2020 to 253,300 and decreased 1.9 per cent (4,900) over July 2019
- Employment increased 4.2 per cent (9,000) from June 2020 to 225,600 and decreased 7.7 per cent (18,800) over July 2019
- Unemployment decreased 5.1 per cent (1,500) from June 2020 to 27,700 and increased 100.7 per cent (13,900) over July 2019
- Unemployment Rate decreased 1 percentage points from June 2020 to 10.9 per cent
