In Nova Scotia Jun 2020, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased 35.8% over Jun 2019. The 3,819 new motor vehicles sold in Jun 2020 represent a sales value of $145.3 million, down 35.8% over Jun 2019.
In Canada Jun 2020, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased -21.5% over Jun 2019. The 149,079 new motor vehicles sold in Jun 2020 represent a sales value of $6.6 billion, down 19.1% over Jun 2019.
Average Prices
In Nova Scotia June 2020, the new motor vehicles average price iwas unchanged over June 2019 at $38,036, the passenger car average price increased 0.6% over June 2019 to $28,363, the truck/SUV average price decreased 2.2% over June 2019 to $41,146.
In Canada June 2020, the new motor vehicles average price increased 3.1% over June 2019 to $45,024.

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2020, North American manufactured new motor vehicles Unit Sales decreased 41.7% (74.1% share) over Jan-Jun 2019.
North American manufactured new motor vehicles unit sales declined 41.7% and the Sales Value decreased 38.0% (77.3% share) over Jan-Jun 2019.
In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2020, for New Motor Vehicles manufactured overseas, Unit Sales decreased 38.4% (25.9% share) over Jan-Jun 2019. For New Motor Vehicles manufactured overseas, Sales Value decreased 37.1% (22.7% share) over Jan-Jun 2019.
Passenger Cars and Trucks
In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2020, passenger car Unit Sales decreased 52.9% (23.4% share) to 3,718 units over Jan-Jun 2019, and passenger car Sales Value decreased 51.7% (16.8% share) to $106 million over Jan-Jun 2019.
In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2020, truck/SUV Unit Sales decreased 35.9% (76.6% share) to 12,200 units over Jan-Jun 2019, and truck/SUV Sales Value decreased 34.0% (83.2% share) to $526 million over Jan-Jun 2019.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, comparisons of year-to-date averages and sums do not show Nova Scotia’s rapidly changing economic situation. The DailyStats will focus on year-over-year comparisons, comparing one month with the same month in the prior year. Where possible the DailyStats will make comparisons of seasonally adjusted data from the pre-COVID-19 period (January and February 2020) with the period during which COVID-19 measures were in place from March 2020 onwards.
