April 07, 2021US TRADE BALANCE, FEBRUARY 2021 Month over month (Feb-21 vs Jan-21)
The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis announced today that the month-over-month net trade deficit widened by $3.3 billion to $71.1 billion. Goods trade deficit widened by $2.8 billions to $88.0 billion. Services trade surplus narrowed by $0.5 billion to $16.9 billion.
Total exports decreased 2.6% (-$5.0 billion) to $187.3 billion. Exports of goods decreased 3.5% (-$4.8 billion) to $131.1 billion. Exports of services decreased 0.4% (-$0.2 billion) to $56.1 billion.
Total imports decreased 0.7% (-$1.7 billion) to $258.3 billion. Imports of goods decreased 0.9% (-$2.0 billion) to $219.1 billion. Imports of services increased 0.6% ($0.3 billion) to $39.2 billion.
Year over year (Feb 2021 vs Feb 2020)
In the United States, Net trade deficit widened by 87.0% ($33.1 billions), Net trade Goods deficit widened by 45.7% ($27.6 billions). Net trade Services surplus narrowed by 24.4% (-$5.5 billions).
Total exports narrowed by 10.0% (-$20.8 billions). Exports of goods narrowed by 5.1% (-$7.1 billions). Exports of services narrowed by 19.6% (-$13.7 billions).
Total imports widened by 5.0% ($12.3 billions). Imports of goods widened by 10.3% ($20.5 billions). Imports of services narrowed by 17.4% (-$8.2 billions).
Year-to-date (Jan-Feb 2021 vs Jan-Feb 2020)
The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis announced today that the year-to-date net trade deficit narrowed by $56.5 billions to $138.9 billion over the same period last year. Goods deficit narrowed by $46.1 billions to $173.2 billion while Services surplus narrowed by $10.5 billions to $34.3 billion.
Total exports decreased 8.7% (-$36.2 billion). Exports of goods decreased 3.0% (-$8.2 billion). Exports of services decreased 19.9% (-$28.0 billion).
Total imports decreased 4.1% (-$20.3 billion). Imports of goods decreased 9.4% (-$37.8 billion). Imports of services decreased 18.3% (-$17.5 billion).
