US CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, MAY 2021

The United States Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers increased 5.0% year-over-year in May, following a 4.2% increase in the previous month. This was the highest 12-month increase in the CPI since August 2008.

The index for all-items less food and energy increased 3.8%, posting the highest increase since June 1992. The energy index increased 28.5% while the food index was up 2.2% in May.

Canada and Nova Scotia May 2021 CPI figures will be released on June 16, 2021.
