UK TRADE BALANCE, APRIL 2021

 

Month-over-month (Apr 2021 vs Mar 2021, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit narrowed by £1.0 billion to £0.9 billion. Exports of goods and services increased 2.5% (£1.2 billion) to £49.4 billion and imports of goods and services increased 0.4% (£0.2 billion) to £50.3 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.8 billion to £11.0 billion. Exports of goods increased 3.0% (£0.8 billion) to £27.5 billion and imports of goods increased 0.1% (£0.1 billion) to £38.5 billion.

The United Kingdom services trade surplus widened by £0.3 billion to £10.0 billion. Exports of services increased 1.9% (£0.4 billion) to £21.9 billion and imports of services increased 1.1% (£0.1 billion) to £11.8 billion.

 

Year-over-year (Apr 2021 vs Apr 2020, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit changed from a surplus (£4.3 billion) to a deficit (£0.9 billion) and goods balance of trade deficit widened by £6.8 billion and services balance of trade surplus widened by £1.6 billion.

 

 

 

UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS

Month-over-month (Apr 2021 vs Mar 2021, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £0.2 billion to £5.4 billion. Exports of goods increased 2.3% (£0.3 billion) to £12.9 billion and imports of goods increased 3.0% (£0.5 billion) to £18.4 billion.

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £1.0 billion to £5.5 billion. Exports of goods increased 3.7% (£0.5 billion) to £14.6 billion and imports of goods decreased 2.3% (£0.5 billion) to £20.1 billion.

 

Year-over-year (Apr 2021 vs Apr 2020, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £1.0 billion and non-EU goods balance of trade deficit changed from a surplus ($0.2 billion) to a deficit (£5.5 billion).
